The National Commission for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People (Commission) recognises the benefits and risks arising from use of AI systems.
The Commission is committed to the safe and responsible use of AI in accordance with all applicable laws and government policies (including the Digital Transformation Agency's Policy for the responsible use of AI in Government).
The Commission is a portfolio agency of the Department of Social Services (DSS). As a result, it uses DSS policies, procedures, training, and approved technologies to support the safe and responsible adoption and use of AI.
Additionally, the Commission has the same AI Accountable Officer and Chief AI Officer as DSS and we rely on the DSS Artificial Intelligence (AI) Transparency Statement , as it accurately reflects how we use AI.
Any differences between the DSS and Commission’s AI use will be clearly identified in this document if they arise.
